Pop sensation Charli XCX has confirmed that she has married George Daniel, drummer of the British band The 1975, following speculation sparked by a video recorded by a passerby, the BBC reported.

The couple was spotted posing on the steps of Hackney Town Hall—Daniel dressed in a suit and tie, and the music icon of the “brat” aesthetic in a white dress.

A few hours later, the singer posted a TikTok video officially confirming the news. The clip quickly amassed over seven million views and thousands of congratulations for “Mr. and Mrs. XCX.”

Charli XCX’s album Brat became a global cultural phenomenon upon its release last year. The project dominated social media with viral videos and received rave reviews, propelling the singer to the main stage at the Glastonbury Festival in June.

She confirmed the marriage in her signature provocative style—wearing an off-shoulder white dress and tight-fitting dark sunglasses. In the video, she walks away from the camera with a mock-offended expression under the caption: “When George doesn’t cry seeing me walk down the aisle.” However, the video’s caption reassured fans: “Luckily, he cried xx.”

In a later post featuring images of Daniel wearing Charli’s veil, the singer commented that the photos radiate “bachelorette party energy.”

The footage from the town hall suggests the two opted for an intimate ceremony.

The singer and drummer have not hidden their relationship over the past few years and announced their engagement in 2023. They also share several musical collaborations—first on the song Spinning, and later on Brat, where Daniel is co-producer and co-writer on two of the tracks.

He also took part in the popular “Apple dance” during one of Charli’s London concerts, appearing on stage in front of thousands of fans.
