During a Coldplay concert near Boston, USA, the camera captured a couple kissing in the audience, but the moments of tenderness quickly turned into a media storm.
When the two realized they were appearing on the giant screen, they reacted in panic – the woman turned her back to the stage and hid her face in her hands, and the man crouched down, as if to disappear. From the stage, the band's vocalist Chris Martin reacted in surprise: "Oh, what? They're either having an affair, or they're very shy."
Just minutes after the incident, the man was recognized as Andy Byrne, CEO and board member of the Cincinnati-based technology company Astronomer. He is married with two children. However, the woman next to him was not his wife, but Christine Cabot, the director of Human Resources at the same company.
Although the status of their relationship has not been officially confirmed, social networks reacted with glee. The video went viral within hours, with comments like “Caught!” and #ZeroSympathy flooding the internet.
Byron has led Astronomer since 2023, and Cabot joined the company in November 2024. In the press release announcing her appointment, Byron described her as a “proven leader” with “exceptional talent management and employee engagement skills.”
“Christine’s exceptional leadership and deep experience will be critical to our future growth,” Byron said at the time.
Cabot herself is also enthusiastic about the company: “I have been encouraged by my conversations with Andy and the leadership team about the potential I see here.”
Byron then issued a statement apologizing to his family and colleagues. A company spokesperson denied the authenticity of the statement, calling it false.
Chris Martin seemed embarrassed by the unexpected turn of events: "Holy God... I hope we didn't do something wrong." | BGNES
