Hollywood stars Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell are teaming up for the new comedy action film "Tough Guys," the website "Far Out" reports.
In addition to starring in the upcoming film, the two are in talks to produce the project, which is being developed at Amazon MGM Studios.
The script for the film has already been written by Daniel Gold, who is best known for the hit comedy series "Workin' Moms."
The comedy's brief description reads: "Fed up on being 'used,' two hitmen break free from the criminal underworld and rewrite the rules, abandoning their ruthless boss and escaping the elite assassin who is after them."
There is no release date for Tough Guys at this point, and the duo has yet to officially sign on to star in the project.
Notably, Gosling and Ferrell appeared together in the 2023 hit film Barbie, their only collaboration on the big screen to date.
Additionally, in 2013 and 2016, the duo teamed up for two sketches titled "Knife Guys" that aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, showcasing the chemistry they hope to replicate in Tough Guys.
While Gosling has comedic talent, which he showcased in the cult classic The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe, his other upcoming projects, the sci-fi film Project Hail Mary and Star Wars: Starfighter, are more serious in nature than the lighthearted plot of Tough Guys.
Starfighter was officially announced in April, with Gosling confirmed to star. He will play a heroic uncle who fights to save his nephew from a group of evil forces. Last month, it was announced that Mia Goth would also star in the film, which is set to be released in 2027. | BGNES
