Rapper Lil Nas X has been charged with four crimes after allegedly assaulting police officers who came to arrest him while he was walking naked in Los Angeles last week.
The "Old Town Road" singer was arrested after stripping down on one of the city's main streets, AFP reported.
A video that surfaced last week initially showed the hit singer wearing cowboy boots and white underwear while walking around the Studio City area.
But new footage obtained by entertainment website TMZ showed the singer, whose real name is Montero Hill, completely naked.
This coincides with what the police said last week, when a spokesperson stated: "A naked man was walking down the street."
"Upon arrival, the suspect lunged at the officers. He was detained and taken to a local hospital," the spokesperson added.
Court documents show that on August 25, Hill was charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting an officer.
Footage from last week sparked a storm of reactions on the internet.
"Don't be late for the party tonight," said the man to a passerby. It was unclear which party he was referring to, or when "tonight" was in the footage, which was shot shortly before dawn.
At one point, he asked the person filming—who was apparently sitting in a car—to give him the phone so he could throw it away.
"I want to throw it away so you don't see it anymore. I don't like phones. Didn't I tell you to put the phone down? Oh, someone's going to have to pay for this," Hill said, waving his finger dramatically. | BGNES
