EU and Western Balkans leaders to discuss Growth Plan in Skopje

Mitskoski and Kos will deliver opening speeches.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will attend the meeting of EU and Western Balkan leaders on the growth plan, which will take place in Skopje on June 30 and July 1.

"On June 30 (Monday), at 4 p.m. (5 p.m. Bulgarian time), a one-on-one meeting will be held between the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, and the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, followed by a bilateral meeting with delegations in a broader format," according to a statement from the Macedonian government.

The arrival and official welcome of the leaders of the Western Balkan countries is expected to take place at 9:30 a.m. (local time).

At 10:00 a.m., the first panel dedicated to the Western Balkans Growth Plan will begin.

The €6 billion Western Balkans Growth Plan was adopted by the European Commission on November 8, 2023.

 It is based on four pillars: strengthening economic integration in the EU single market; strengthening economic integration within the Western Balkans through the regional common market; accelerating key reforms; and increasing financial assistance to support reforms. | BGNES
