Romanian President Nicusor Dan said that the country will continue to pursue a consistent and predictable policy regarding its membership in the EU and NATO, as well as its strategic partnership with the US. He outlined three key priorities for the country: ensuring security, economic development, and support for the Romanian diaspora, Agerpres reported.
Particular attention was paid to support for Moldova and Ukraine, as well as to strengthening Romania's position in the Black Sea region, including through the Bucharest 9 initiative. Dăncilă stressed the need for a stronger economic presence of the country within the EU and closer cooperation with the US, noting that the economic benefits of this partnership have not been fully realized.
The president also noted the progress towards Romania's goal of joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) by 2026 and emphasized the strategic advantage of the country, which, according to him, has the potential to become a key connecting hub between Europe, Asia, and Africa as part of a broader Black Sea strategy. | BGNES
