Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has won the Professional Footballers' Association Footballer of the Year award for a record third time after his brilliant performance last season.
The 33-year-old Egyptian striker scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists to lead the Merseysiders to the English championship title. He added the prize to the previously won Footballer of the Year award from the Professional Football Writers' Association. The previous two times Salah became Footballer of the Year were in 2018 and 2022.
He also made The Team of the Year starting XI, and besides him from Liverpool there are Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. One of the new signings for the Reds is also in the Team of the Year - Milos Kerkez, who played for Bournemouth last season. The rest of the 11 are Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, Gunners midfielder Declan Rice, Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood and Newcastle's Alexander Isak, who is linked with a move to Liverpool.
Morgan Rodgers of Aston Villa was named Young Player of the Year.
The award for Women's Player of the Year went to Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey. | BGNES
