Warsaw: Polish fighter jets fired at hostile targets during the latest Russian attack on Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz said that fighter jets mobilized in response to repeated violations of the country's airspace during Russia's attack on Ukraine had opened fire on "hostile targets," AFP reported. 

"The planes used weapons against hostile targets," Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on social media, adding:

"We are in constant contact with NATO command."

Earlier, the US Federal Aviation Administration announced that four Polish airports, including Warsaw's main Chopin Airport, had been closed after Russia launched drone strikes near the border with Ukraine.

The Polish military said in a post on X that military aircraft had been activated to ensure the safety of the airspace. | BGNES
