Another night of protests across Serbia

Protest rallies were held this evening in several cities across Serbia, from Belgrade and Čačak to Kruševac, Sombor, and Požarevac.

In Krusevac, a rally was held in Mlade Square in solidarity with Nikolina Sindjelic, a student at the Faculty of Political Sciences, following allegations that she was physically assaulted and threatened with rape while in custody in Belgrade. After sending messages against violence to the authorities, residents of Krusevac went on a protest march that ended in front of the city administration.

In Čačak, a rally was held in front of the Serbian Progressive Party (SPS) building on the city's waterfront promenade in support of coach Marko Džusić, who announced on social media that after "eight years of successful work, he must leave the gym and the Borac Hall" after refusing an invitation to stand in front of the Serbian Progressive Party (SPS) building.

He said he had refused the invitation to stand in front of the SPP building at a time when there were clashes between SPP supporters and demonstrators "because he did not want to come and beat up citizens." A cordon of police in riot gear is guarding the ruling party's premises.

Protest "clean-up actions" were organised in Sombor and Pozarevac after protests against the blockades took place there yesterday, which were called for and attended by supporters of the government.

In Belgrade, at the invitation of the Konjarnik Citizens' Assembly, a rally was held in support of N1 television in front of its premises in New Belgrade, due to pressure and changes in management positions in companies operating within the United Group, including United Media, of which N1 is a part. | BGNES
