Two women – one from Bulgaria and one from Finland – drowned on the southern Black Sea coast

The first incident occurred at Delfin Beach near Ahtopol, and the second in Pomorie.

The Burgas police reported two new cases of drowning on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast today. Two women drowned, one of whom was a foreign tourist, according to a BGNES correspondent.

The first incident occurred yesterday at around 12:51 p.m. Police in Tsarevo received a report from the unguarded section of Delfin Beach near Ahtopol. A 56-year-old woman from Sofia drowned in the sea.

The second incident took place at around 1:20 p.m. in the area of the southern beach of Pomorie in front of the Festa Panorama complex. A 72-year-old Finnish citizen who had arrived in Bulgaria on August 16 with her husband drowned in the sea opposite the first lifeguard station.

The bodies of the two women were taken to the Forensic Medicine Department at the Burgas University Hospital for autopsy. Work on the cases continues. | BGNES
