FBI agents are raiding the Maryland home of John Bolton, former National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump, a U.S. official told The New York Times.
When asked about the visible FBI presence at Bolton’s residence, a bureau spokesperson said the agents were “conducting court-authorized activity in the area.” The investigation into Bolton aims to determine whether he illegally shared or possessed classified information, according to two people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the nature of the probe.
Similar allegations by the Trump administration years ago, related to Bolton’s book about his time in the White House, received no support from either criminal investigators or the courts. Bolton’s lawyer did not immediately respond to requests for comment. | BGNES
