A private plane owned by a Romanian citizen made an emergency landing in the area of the village of Gigen near Pleven.

The incident occurred on Friday, August 1. Fortunately, there were no casualties or serious injuries.
A Romanian family was returning from a vacation in Greece in their private plane.
"The plane was flying legally, in accordance with the approved flight plan from Greece, where two Romanian citizens were on vacation. They were the pilot, who was also the owner, and his wife. On their way back, they flew over Bulgarian territory. Due to engine failure, they crashed and had to make an emergency landing in the area of the village of Gigen," said Pleven District Prosecutor Vladimir Nikolov, quoted by BNR.
The small plane sustained material damage. The pilot and his wife were not seriously injured.
