Andrew and Tristan Tate's lawyers have said the brothers will return to the UK to face 21 charges once the proceedings against them in Romania have concluded, the BBC reports.
On 28 May, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it had authorised charges against the brothers, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking, in 2024 before an extradition order is issued for their return from Romania.
Authorities in Romania are investigating the two British-American nationals in a separate case in relation to a number of charges, which they deny.
On 29 May, the brothers said that "once these proceedings are fully concluded, they will then return to face the charges in the UK".
Previously, their lawyers said the UK charges date back to between 2012 and 2015.
At the time of the arrest warrant, obtained by Bedfordshire Police in March 2024, the brothers said they "categorically deny all charges" and were "very innocent people".
The Romanian court has now ruled that Andrew and Tristan can be extradited to the UK after the conclusion of their trial there, for which there is no clear timeframe at this time. The CPS said that "domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first".
The Crown Prosecution Service said 10 charges had been brought against Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, relating to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for profit.
Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one alleged victim, including rape, battery and human trafficking.
In response to the charges, their attorneys said there has been a "tremendous amount of misinformation in the media about the charges our clients face." | BGNES
