US President Donald Trump said he had reached a deal with Indonesia without giving details of the agreement, a week after threatening higher tariffs on the Southeast Asian country.
"Great deal just made with Indonesia," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, quoted by AFP.
He added that he had spoken directly with the country's president.
"DETAILS WILL FOLLOW!!!," the US president added.
The Trump administration is under pressure to finalize trade agreements with other economies after promising a series of deals as countries sought to avoid the president's tariff threats.
But so far, Washington has only announced deals with the UK and Vietnam, as well as an agreement to temporarily reduce retaliatory tariffs with China.
Last week, Trump renewed his threat of a 32% tariff on Indonesian goods, saying in a letter to the country's leadership that the level would take effect on August 1.
In April, Trump imposed a 10% tariff on almost all of the US's trading partners, announcing plans to increase this level for dozens of economies, including the European Union and Indonesia.
However, he recently postponed the deadline for these higher tariffs from July 9 to August 1. | BGNES
