An archive of David Bowie's life with 90,000 items has been opened in London

Curators describe the archive as evidence of Bowie's evolution as a “true polymath” whose work spans music, fashion, theater, and art.

The vast archive dedicated to the life and career of David Bowie—including 70,000 photographs, 400 costumes, 150 musical instruments, fan letters, and handwritten texts—has opened its doors to the public at the new David Bowie Centre at the V&A East Storehouse in London, The Guardian reported.

The collection also reveals the musician's unfinished projects, including notes for an 18th-century-inspired musical entitled The Spectator. The curators describe the archive as evidence of Bowie's evolution as a “true polymath” whose work spanned music, fashion, theater, and art.

Bowie, known as the “chameleon” of rock music, died in 2016, leaving behind a fifty-year legacy that continues to inspire generations. | BGNES
