A criminal group led by 65-year-old Deborah Mason has been uncovered in the UK.
According to the Guardian, she was known in drug-dealing circles as the "gangster grandmother" or "queen bee". From April to November 2023, Mason's drug gang was shipping tons of cocaine to various British cities. Their value is estimated at £80 million.
An elderly woman was in charge of everything, recruiting her relatives and their relatives to join the group. There were even young mothers among the gang members who often took their young children on deals.
In addition to the drug profits, Mason received welfare. She spent her profits on designer goods and planned to have cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
Officers had been monitoring Mason and seven other gang members for a long time. The woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison. "As a mother, you should have set an example for your children, not corrupt them," the judge said.
