Paul McCartney announces new North American leg of Got Back tour

The tour will kick off in California on September 29 and will end in November with two final concerts in Chicago.

Sir Paul McCartney has announced a second North American leg of his Got Back tour.

The Beatles icon revealed the new dates in the US and Canada, which will be his first appearance in the region since the start of the US tour in 2022.

The new leg of the Got Back tour will kick off at the Acrisure Arena in California on September 29, marking McCartney's first visit to Palm Desert.

The "Let It Be" singer will play in entirely new cities this time around, with the tour including a debut performance in Albuquerque, as well as stops in New Orleans, Buffalo, and Montreal.

McCartney will conclude the tour in November with two final concerts in Chicago.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale July 15, with general sale tickets available July 18.

Meanwhile, McCartney has co-authored a book about his time with Wings, which will be released in November.

The star formed the band in 1971 after the breakup of the Beatles and shares his memories in the new book, titled "Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run."

"I'm very happy to be going back to the Wings era and reliving some of our crazy adventures through this book. Starting from scratch after the breakup of the Beatles was sometimes crazy. There were some very difficult moments, and I often doubted my decision. But when we got better, I thought, 'Okay, this is really good. We proved that Wings could be a really good band. To play in front of huge audiences in the same way that The Beatles did, and to make an impact in a different way. It was a huge thrill," said the 83-year-old musician.
