Netanyahu nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

Over the years, Trump has been nominated multiple times for the Nobel Prize by his supporters and loyal lawmakers, and he has not hidden his frustration at not receiving the prestigious award.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and presented him with a letter addressed to the Nobel Committee, AFP reported.

“He is forging peace before our very eyes — in one country, in region after region,” Netanyahu said during a dinner with Trump at the White House.

Over the years, Trump has been nominated multiple times for the Nobel Prize by his supporters and loyal lawmakers, and he has not hidden his frustration at not receiving the prestigious award. The Republican has expressed dissatisfaction that the Norwegian Nobel Committee overlooked him for his mediating role in the conflicts between India and Pakistan, as well as between Serbia and Kosovo.

He has also demanded recognition for “maintaining peace” between Egypt and Ethiopia and for brokering the Abraham Accords — a series of agreements aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and several Arab countries.

During his election campaign, Trump portrayed himself as a “peacemaker” who would use his negotiating skills to swiftly end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, although both conflicts have continued for more than five months into his presidency. |BGNES
