Tottenham has appointed Thomas Frank as its new manager. The Dane replaces sacked Ange Postecoglou.
Frank has signed a three-year contract with Tottenham and becomes the club's fourth permanent manager since June 2021. His contract runs until 2028.
“Thomas is one of the most progressive and innovative coaches in the world of football,” the club said in an official statement.
Tottenham turned their attention to Frank after Daniel Levy sacked Pochettino just 16 days after his triumph in the Europa League final against Manchester United, ending the club's 17-year trophy drought.
Frank is the 14th permanent manager during Levy's 24-year tenure.
Levy made an official offer to Brentford earlier this week, and the deal was finalized after Tottenham allowed the Dane to take assistant coach Justin Cochrane with him.
Frank's contract with Brentford was until 2027, with a release clause estimated at around £10 million ($13.6 million).
The 51-year-old specialist brought Brentford back to the Premier League in 2021 after a 74-year absence and established the club in the elite of English football.
Now his task is to return Tottenham to the top of the league.
After their success in the Europa League in Bilbao, where Tottenham beat Manchester United 1-0, the team will play in the Champions League next season. | BGNES, AFP
