Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cannot "continue to exist," Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said today.
His comments came after an Israeli hospital was hit by an Iranian missile, CNN reported.
Speaking to reporters in the central city of Holon, which was also attacked by Iran overnight, Katz compared Khamenei to German dictator Adolf Hitler.
"A dictator like Khamenei, who heads a country like Iran, who has set himself the goal of destroying the State of Israel... he can no longer continue to exist," the minister said.
"Khamenei is the modern-day Hitler," he added.
Dozens of people were injured in the strike on the Soroka Medical Center. Iran claims that the strike was actually aimed at a nearby technology center used by the Israeli army (IDF).
Israel said it attacked Iran last week to prevent its enemy from developing nuclear weapons. But Katz's comments are the latest in a series of statements by Israeli leaders signaling that the goals of the Israeli campaign may not stop there. | BGNES
