The Israeli foreign ministry reported a direct hit on a hospital in the south of the country after Iran fired a new series of missiles.
"LATEST BREAKING: A direct hit reported on Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel. More details to follow," the Foreign Ministry wrote in X.
A hospital spokesman reported "damage to the hospital and extensive damage in various areas."
"We are currently assessing the damage, including the injured. We request that citizens do not come to the hospital at this time," the ministry added.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be "held accountable" over the strike.
"These are some of the most serious war crimes - and Khamenei will be held accountable for his actions," Katz said.
The minister added that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered the army "to intensify strikes against strategic targets in Iran and against Tehran's energy infrastructure in order to eliminate threats to the state of Israel and to shake the Ayatollahs' regime."
Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service reported that at least 32 people were injured after Iran's latest missile strikes. According to the Israeli military, "dozens of ballistic missiles" were used in the attack. | BGNES.
