An Israeli air strike in Gaza has hit the home of a doctor and killed nine of her ten children, according to the hospital where she works in the city of Khan Yunis.

Nasser Hospital said that one of Dr. Alaa al-Najjar's children and her husband were injured but survived. Graham Greum, a British surgeon working at the hospital, said he operated on her 11-year-old son, who survived.

A video shared by the director of the Hamas-run health ministry and confirmed by the BBC showed small burned bodies being pulled from the rubble of the strike in Khan Yunis.

More than 70 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Friday, and at least six more were killed on Saturday, Hamas-run civil defense told AFP.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, director of the Ministry of Health, wrote on X that the family home was hit minutes after Dr. al-Najjar's husband, Hamdi, returned home after driving his wife to work. Dr. al-Najjar's eldest child was 12 years old. | BGNES
