The answer to the “territorial question” is in the Constitution, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, likely in response to Donald Trump’s statement that a future peace agreement should include a “territory exchange in the interest of both sides.”
“No one can and will ever be able to back down from this. Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized on Telegram, as quoted by the UNIAN news agency. He also added that Ukraine will not reward Russia for continuing its full-scale war.
Zelensky clarified that Ukraine is ready for “real solutions” that can bring peace. However, decisions “against and without Ukraine” are decisions “against peace,” the Ukrainian president believes.
“They will give nothing. These are dead decisions; they will never work. And we all need a true, living peace that people will respect. We are ready to work together with Trump, together with all partners, for a real and, most importantly, lasting peace—a peace that will not fall apart because of Moscow’s wishes,” the head of state noted.
Earlier, it was reported that on August 15, a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will take place in Alaska. | BGNES
