European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde has shown off the Bulgarian euro coins.

They come in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 euro cents.

On her Facebook page, Lagarde also wrote that the appearance and design of the euro coins are "exciting news" for the eurozone.

"Take a first look at the design of the Bulgarian 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 euro cent coins. Although we will have to wait a little longer before we see these coins in circulation, these photos give a glimpse of the beautiful national symbols of the euro coins, chosen by the Bulgarian National Bank," Lagarde wrote.

"The design of the euro coins maintains continuity with Bulgaria's current coins and includes symbols that are deeply rooted in the country's heritage and cherished by its people," added the ECB President.IBGNES
