The Chairman of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky, confirmed on Telegram that Andriy Parubiy, former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, was killed, the Ukrainian UNIAN news agency reported.
“All relevant services are involved. The victim died before the arrival of doctors,” he wrote.
The National Police, for its part, reported that around noon a call was received on the 102 phone about a shooting in the Sykhiv district of Lviv. “The deceased is a well-known public figure and politician, born in 1971,” the National Police said in a message on Telegram, before the politician’s name was officially published. The publication also reported that law enforcement officers are working to establish the identity of the shooter and his location. He headed the Verkhovna Rada in 2016-2019. | BGNES
