AC Milan recorded their first win of the new Serie A season after defeating Lecce 2-0.
In the first half at the Via del Mare stadium, the visitors from Milan found the net as early as the 4th minute, but Matteo Gabbia’s goal was disallowed for a foul. The only shot on target before the break came from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but Vladimiro Falcone managed to save it.
In the second half, another Milan goal was ruled out when Santiago Giménez beat Falcone but was flagged for offside. Nevertheless, Massimiliano Allegri’s side finally broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, when Ruben Loftus-Cheek headed home a free-kick cross delivered by Luka Modrić.
