Amber Heard becomes mother of twins

The actress said she chose motherhood “responsibly and thoughtfully” and “couldn't be happier”.

Amber Heard announced the arrival of her twins in an Instagram post shared on Mother's Day in the US.

The American actress revealed that she has welcomed her daughter Agnes and son Ocean into the world and is “indescribably happy” to celebrate the “completion” of her family.

The 39-year-old Heard's first daughter Oona was born in 2021, the BBC reported.

Under a photo of three pairs of legs, Hurd wrote: “Becoming a mother on my own and on my own terms despite the challenges of fertility has been the most humbling experience of my life.”

The actress said she chose motherhood “responsibly and thoughtfully” and “couldn't be happier”.

She described her family as one she had “strived to create for years”.

“To all you mothers, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I celebrate with you,” she added.

When Heard announced the birth of her first daughter in 2021, she spoke of her desire for it to be “normalised to not want a ring to have a cradle”.

“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think this way about one of the most basic parts of our destiny,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Heard is best known for her films “The Rum Diary,” “Drive Angry,” “Zombieland ” and “Aquaman.”

From 2015 to 2016, she was married to actor Johnny Depp.

Following the end of their marriage, the two accused each other of domestic violence and were involved in two lengthy and noisy defamation lawsuits - the Depp v. NGN case and the Depp v. Heard case, in which Heard was found liable for defaming Depp.

For six weeks in 2022, a court in the US state of Virginia heard details of the couple's volatile relationship.

Depp sued his ex-wife for defamation over an opinion piece she wrote for the Washington Post, which alleged she was a victim of domestic abuse, although it did not mention him by name. Hurd filed a countersuit.

Jurors awarded Depp, who denies abusing Heard, $15 million.

Hurd wins one of three counterclaims against Depp and receives $2 million in damages. | BGNES
