The Hollywood legend turned 95 on Saturday, May 31, nearly a year after the death of his longtime girlfriend Christina Sandera.
His son Scott Eastwood recently gave an update on his father's condition, telling People magazine that the "Gran Torino" actor is "doing fine," adding that "he's a resilient guy who knows how to survive."
Scott, 39, added that when it comes to his father, the "Dirty Harry" icon isn't complaining.
"He was born coming out of the Great Depression, and then he was young during World War II. He's seen a lot of hardship," Scott said.
Sandera, Clint's longtime partner, died of a heart attack at age 61 last July.
The Oscar winner then released a statement saying:
"Christina was a wonderful, caring woman and I will miss her greatly".
Speaking to Austrian newspaper The Courier ahead of his 95th birthday, the star expressed the view that at his age he remained in good physical shape and no one should worry about his health "for a long time yet".
"There's no reason why a person can't get better with age," Clint pointed out in the interview published on May 30.
"And I have a lot more experience today. Of course, there are directors who lose their touch at a certain age, but I'm not one of them," he added.
Although Clint has kept his public appearances to a minimum lately, he continues to have a serious presence in Hollywood - for example, in his latest directorial project, "Juror No. 2."
In the drama, Nicholas Hoult stars as "family man" Justin Kemp, who serves as a juror in a "high-profile murder trial" before "finding himself faced with a serious moral dilemma that he could use to influence the jury's verdict and potentially convict - or acquit - the accused killer."
During the film's premiere on October 27 at the AFI Film Festival, Holt revealed that he was "genuinely shocked" by his involvement in the casting, while also sharing what it was like to work with the "Unforgiven" star.
"He epitomises cinema in many ways, as an actor, the performances he's done, the films he's directed," Holt said.
"It's just magical to have been on set with him and to have learned from him. So I feel very, very lucky," he added. | BGNES
