Singer Jessie J has revealed that she has been diagnosed with “early stage” breast cancer and will undergo surgery later this month.

The 37-year-old British musician shared on social media that she learned the news from her doctors before the release of her new single “New Secrets” on April 25 and has been “undergoing tests” ever since.

"Before the release of ‘No Secrets,’ I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. I emphasize the word ‘early’. Cancer is awful in any form, but I'm holding onto the word ‘early’. I've been going through various tests throughout this time,“ she said in an Instagram video.

Jessie J hesitated to share the news because ”there are a lot of opinions out there."

But the singer felt she had to tell everything, especially because of the name of her latest single, “No Secrets.” The song was inspired by the miscarriage she suffered in 2021.

“To be diagnosed with this, right as I'm releasing ‘No Secrets’ before ‘Living My Best Life,’ which was planned before I even knew about this, is something that couldn't be made up,” Jessie J said.

"I just wanted to be honest and share that — first, because, selfishly, I don't talk about it enough. I haven't processed it because I've been working so hard. I also know how much it has helped me in the past when other people have shared their love and support with me, as well as their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse things. That's the part that kills me," she added. | BGNES
