American actor Tom Cruise has entered the Guinness Book of Records thanks to his stunts in the film Mission: Impossible - Fallout. This was announced on the publication's website.
During the filming of the new installment of the cult film, the actor jumped out of a helicopter with a parachute that was soaked in a flammable mixture and later ignited. He then got rid of the burning parachute, opened his reserve parachute, and landed safely. It is known that 16 takes were needed to shoot this scene. Thus, the 62-year-old Cruise became the record holder for the number of jumps with a burning parachute performed by one person. "No other actor or stuntman has come close to such a number of deadly jumps. Tom doesn't just play action heroes — he is an action hero," says the Guinness World Records website. The crew even feared that the 62-year-old star had fainted after climbing onto the wing of a stunt biplane he was piloting himself.
Cruise is known for preferring to do all his own stunts. He also holds another record: appearing in the longest series of films to gross over $100 million at the box office. We are talking about 11 films, starting with Jack Reacher (2012) and ending with the actor's latest project, Mission: Impossible - Fallout. | BGNES
