Borisov: Only through unity can we protect national interests. Let us move forward with our friends from North Macedonia

To our friends in North Macedonia, I once again extend my hand – let us move forward together, based on respect and implementation of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness.

"To our friends in North Macedonia, I extend my hand once again – let us move forward together on the basis of respect and full implementation of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness. In me and in Bulgaria, they will always have a sincere and close partner."

This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borisov following the decision of the European Parliament to reject all texts related to “Macedonian identity and language” from the progress report on North Macedonia, prepared by Thomas Waitz, BGNES reported.

"This is a clear sign that when Bulgaria is united – when all our MEPs, institutions, and political forces act together – we can achieve results and defend our national interest at the highest level in Europe! Special thanks to Andrey Kovatchev and to our political family – the European People’s Party!" Borisov said.

"In recent weeks, I have held a number of discussions with European leaders and representatives of leading political families in the EU. I clearly explained that European documents should not be used for nationalist propaganda, but should serve the truth and good neighborly relations. I am pleased that the voice of Bulgaria was heard.

To our friends in North Macedonia, I once again extend my hand – let us move forward together, based on respect and implementation of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness. In me and in Bulgaria, they will always have a sincere and close partner," he added. | BGNES
