40-year-old billionaire and Telegram founder Pavel Durov has been granted a relaxed judicial review, allowing him to leave France.
According to Le Monde, Durov was allowed to leave France for 14 days in a row, starting July 10: “The permit is valid only for trips to Dubai, where his relatives live and where Telegram’s offices are located.” The corresponding decision of the Paris Court of Appeal entered into force on June 19.
Previously, Pavel had planned to go to America for negotiations with investment funds, but the French authorities considered such a trip unjustified and forbade him from leaving the country. Before that, he had only left the country once - also to Dubai. In August last year, French authorities detained Pavel Durov on charges of complicity in smuggling, money laundering and concealing pedophile content on Telegram. Durov flew to France with his girlfriend Yulia Vavilova. Due to the stress associated with his arrest, she lost their child. He was released after posting a bail of 5 million euros, promised to strengthen the moderation of his network, but refused to provide access to the private correspondence of users.
At the same time, Durov had a conflict with the mother of his three children, Irina Bolgar. She accused the businessman of child abuse and refusal to pay their alimony. Recently, Pavel Durov admitted in an interview with a French magazine that he has six official children and thanks to the donation of genetic material, over a hundred more were born. He also said that he had already drawn up a will. | BGNES
