Macron calls for resumption of nuclear talks with Iran

The Elysée Palace announced that France, in coordination with its European allies, is preparing a proposal for a negotiated solution aimed at ending the conflict between Iran and Israel.

French President Emmanuel Macron called for the resumption of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. He said Israel must stop strikes on the Islamic republic's “civilian infrastructure,” AFP reported.

"It is essential to give priority to a return to substantive negotiations (with Iran) that include the nuclear issue - moving to zero enrichment (of uranium by Iran) - ballistics, to limit Iran's capabilities and funding of all terrorist groups destabilising the region," Macron said on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show.

BGNES recalls that on June 18, the Elysée Palace announced that France, in coordination with its European allies, was preparing a proposal for a negotiated solution aimed at ending the conflict between Iran and Israel.

After a meeting of the National Security Council chaired by Macron, it became clear that he had tasked Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot with preparing, in the coming days, “an initiative in close cooperation with European partners to propose an ambitious negotiated solution to end the conflict.” | BGNES
