Billionaire and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has denied claims by The New York Times that his health has been affected by the use of large amounts of ketamine.
In a series of posts on his social media account, Musk said: "Let me be clear — I do NOT use drugs! The New York Times is obviously lying. I tried ketamine with a prescription a few years ago and have said so publicly on X before, so this is not news. It helped me get out of some really bad mental states, but I haven't taken it since."
According to the publication, Musk used ketamine, ecstasy, and hallucinogenic mushrooms during the 2024 presidential campaign. Sources claim that he took ketamine almost daily and sometimes mixed it with other substances, which caused concern among his associates.
It is unclear whether this practice continued after he joined the Trump administration. Musk played a key role in the 2024 election, donating approximately $290 million to Trump and the Republicans.
After Trump's victory, Musk was appointed head of the so-called “Office of Government Effectiveness,” whose goal is to reduce federal bureaucracy and bring government agencies into line with MAGA policies. This week, however, his involvement in the administration came to an end. Trump sent him to an event at the White House. | BGNES
