Two Romanians injured after hand grenade explosion in Athens

The injured are two Romanians, the only customers in the establishment, aged 42 and 39.

Two people were injured after a hand grenade exploded in a hookah bar located in the Athens suburb of Agios Panteleimonas, ERT reported.

The injured are two Romanians, the only customers in the establishment, aged 42 and 39. The two men were injured in the leg and arm, respectively, and were taken to the Red Cross hospital. Their lives are not in danger.

The victims are expected to give immediate statements to the authorities about the incident. The extortion department has taken over the investigation, as this act concerns people who take advantage of Athens' nightlife and are thus probably trying to send a message to the owner. The possibility of different motives cannot be ruled out.

The explosion was low-powered and did not cause significant damage to the café. | BGNES
