Early October – Miami hosts Kubrat Pulev’s next fight

The Bulgarian will eventually face Michael Hunter

Don King Productions has announced October 4 as the date for the upcoming clash between Kubrat Pulev and Michael Hunter. Just a few days ago, King had to send an “order” to reject the news that Hunter would fight Jarrell Miller on September 11.

The fight will be for the “regular WBA world heavyweight title,” held by Pulev. The venue is Casino Miami, where several galas have been held in recent years.

At this point, King insists that he has a contract with Hunter (24-1-2, 17 KOs), signed in February 2024 for a period of three years. He won the rights to the fight with a bid of $1.1 million.

Here is King's position on the Kubrat Pulev fight:

"The threats of lawsuits against the WBA by Epic Sports and Entertainment continue. It is all corruption, fraud, bribery, rigged schemes and unfair dealings on the part of Epic Sports, who are appealing to the WBA to reconsider the Pulev vs. Hunter bid, which DKP won. Now Epic Sports are trying to change and cancel the fight. This is clouding the atmosphere with lies, fraud, fake and untrue news

The WBA has defended its rules and regulations with dignity and declared that the bid was valid and legitimate, after which Epic Sports and WBA champion Kubrat Pulev filed a complaint in order to change the meaning of the rules... The WBA has respectfully rejected the appeal of Pulev and Epic Sports, and then Epic Sports rewrote the contracts for the bid as if they had won it and asked the WBA to illegally and unfairly approve their appeal.
However, John Worth is not stopping to try to prevent the fight so that the #1 contender Michael Hunter does not fight. Now John Worth and Ivaylo Gotsev of Epic Sports are filing an arbitration case against the WBA's decisions made in the name of justice and fair play. But DKP will not wait for that decision. We will stand firmly behind the honor and authority of the WBA and their decision for fair play and fairness regarding the auction. The reputation of the WBA is at stake. |BGNES
