Rio Ferdinand's son has signed his first professional contract with Brighton. Lorenz Ferdinand turned 19 in July and has been a goalkeeper in the Seagulls' youth teams since 2022.

The former Manchester United defender and his wife Kate shared the news on social media, adding that the family is "very proud" of the moment.
