Swiatek and Paolini will meet in Cincinnati women's final

The Pole beat Elena Rybakina, while the Italian was victorious against Veronika Kudermetova.

Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini will face each other in the final of the strong tennis tournament in Cincinnati.

Swiatek, third in the main draw, overcame Elena Rybakina, who beat world number 1 and last year's champion Aryna Sabalenka, after 7-5, 6-3. The key to the final outcome of the match turned out to be the first set, in which the Kazakh was leading 5-3, but Swiatek took four consecutive games and with that the opening set. In the second, the Pole was victorious after a single break.

Her rival in the dispute for the title will be Paolini, who struggled with the unseeded Veronika Kudermetova - 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-3. The Italian achieved a break in the first and third sets to celebrate the victory.

Swiatek and Paolini have four matches at the WTA level, with Iga dominating completely - four wins, in which she has lost only one set.

Their match is at 01:00 Bulgarian time on the night of Monday to Tuesday. Three hours earlier, the men's final in Cincinnati begins between the best tennis players in the world - last year's champion and number 1 in the rankings Jannik Sinner, against world number two Carlos Alcaraz. | BGNES
