Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of planning a new offensive, Ukrinform reported.
There are no signs that Russian President Vladimir Putin is seriously considering a diplomatic solution, Zelensky said in his evening video address.
“From information received from intelligence and open sources, we can see that Putin and his entourage do not plan to end the war. On the contrary, there is sufficient evidence that they are preparing new offensive operations,” the Ukrainian president added.
Zelensky said this shows Moscow's contempt for everyone trying to achieve peace, probably referring to US President Donald Trump, who has presented himself as a mediator for a peaceful resolution to the war since taking office in January.
The large-scale attacks by Russian forces against Ukrainian cities with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and over 900 drones in the last three days are pointless from a military point of view, Zelensky added.
He stressed that they serve only to cause destruction and repeated his call for increased pressure on Moscow through additional sanctions. | BGNES
