Benny Blanco has written some of the biggest hits in the music industry, but he doesn't always remember them.
The super-producer, who has worked with stars ranging from Britney Spears to his fiancée Selena Gomez, recently appeared on Jake Chane's Therapuss podcast, where he revealed that he has created so much music that it sometimes escapes him, according to CNN.
"Sometimes I'm in a restaurant and I'm like, 'Oh my God, that song is so good,'" Blanco said. "And I look it up on Shazam, and then it turns out to be my song," he joked.
Shazam is an app that can recognize songs from ambient sound. Blanco pointed out that he has been writing songs since he was 16.
"I've gotten old and I don't remember anything. I've written hundreds of songs that have been released," said the 37-year-old musician.
Blanco defended himself against Shane's obvious shock by asking the podcast host, "Do you remember every podcast, every word you've ever said?"
"Let's say you're in the 16th season of your podcast and someone asks you, 'Have you interviewed Chelsea Handler?
And you say, 'I think so?'" Blanco said.
Blanco and his fiancée Selena Gomez released a joint album in March titled "I Said I Love You First."
Beni also co-produced "Kill Em with Kindness" and "Same Old Love" from Selena's 2015 album Revival, and in 2019 they collaborated on "I Can't Get Enough" with Tainy and J Balvin. | BGNES
