During a recent interview with Khloé Kardashian on her podcast "Khloé in Wonder Land," Parton shared her grief over the loss of her husband Carl Dean, who passed away in March at the age of 82.
The country music legend shared that when it comes to writing songs, "there are a few things I want to start, but I can't do it," according to CNN.
"I'll do it later, but I just have so many wonderful, beautiful ideas. But I don't think I'll finish them," she said.
"I can't do it right now because I have so many other things going on and I can't afford to get emotional right now. It all starts with a story or a song," Parton noted.
"I think that's one of the reasons I love writing, because I feel so connected to God in that moment," the singer added.
Kardashian enjoyed their conversation.
"Dolly, you're even more magical in person! (if that's even possible)," she wrote in the caption of a video of her and Parton. "I still feel like I'm dreaming!"
However, Parton did give her fans something to look forward to. She recently announced an upcoming residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"I haven't worked in Vegas in years and I've always loved singing there.
I really enjoy the shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and hope you will too. See you there!"
Parton's last residency in Las Vegas was 32 years ago. The new shows are scheduled for December. | BGNES
