George Simion and Calin Georgescu voted together in the Romanian presidential election

The president of the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, voted at a polling station in Mogoșoaia, accompanied by the disqualified presidential candidate Calin Georgescu.

"Christ is risen! I voted with Calin Georgescu. We are here with one mission: to restore constitutional order and democracy. I have no other goal than to serve the Romanian people, whom I serve. We are here with the people and for the Romanian people, with one desire – to bring justice to Romania," said George Simion, the AUR candidate for the presidential elections, quoted by Agerpres.
Kalin Georgescu said that by running in the elections, he was not legitimizing fraud, but rather recognizing the power of democracy.
"I am not here to recognize fraud such as these elections—fraud organized by those who have turned fraud into the only state policy. But I am here to acknowledge the power of democracy, the power of the voice that frightens the system, that terrifies the system. I am here for the interests of the Romanian people, for their dignity, for their greatness, for their nobility, because the destiny and rights of the Romanian nation are eternal. Romania has awakened, and our courage—the courage of our people—is an awakened consciousness. That is why the time has come to take back our country and, of course, to take back the second round. Lift up your hearts, and you will be free! Only with God will we move forward!" he said.
The two were accompanied by several supporters. | BGNES
