German Eurofighter jets escorted a Ryanair Boeing 737-800 from Sofia to London-Stansted with 174 people on board. The incident occurred on August 11.

The flight was in Austrian airspace and was preparing to enter Czech airspace, but did not receive permission. The plane turned left to stay in Austrian airspace and bypass Czech airspace.

While flying over Germany, the plane was joined by two fighter jets, which escorted it until it crossed into Dutch airspace. The flight continued to London and landed safely on runway 04 at Stansted Airport.

According to information received by The Aviation Herald, there was a plan to attack the flight, which led to the Czech Republic refusing to allow the plane into its airspace and to its escort by Eurofighters over Germany, which, however, did not detect anything unusual.

The plane remained at Stansted Airport overnight and resumed flights the next morning. | BGNES
