This was stated by North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in Veles.
In his speech, the VMRO-DPMNE leader also said that the time when “criminals and clans” ruled the country was over, pointing to “the people of (former Prime Minister) Zoran Zaev.” According to Mickoski, local elections are coming up, which the VMRO-DPMNE will win convincingly and send a message that “Macedonia's time is coming and the time of destruction, lawlessness, crime, and selling out Macedonian interests is over.”
"I hear the opposition boasting about how it laid the foundations of the state. So I want to ask what foundations you built. Are they the ones with which you robbed and devastated Macedonia during the transition, when our parents lost their jobs, when they had an uncertain existence for themselves and their families? Are you talking about those foundations or the ones you laid when you changed the name and flag and accepted the shameful agreement with Bulgaria, putting Macedonia in a subordinate role?" asked Mickoski.
He claims that the previous government, now in opposition, is “scared” because it knows that “the VMRO-DPMNE government and the coalition over the past year have regained the international standing that those in the SDSM sold off.”
"And today we proudly tell our story about Macedonia in Munich, we win in Berlin and London, Brussels and Washington, we talk about our Macedonia. It hurts them because they are cowards and they know what they have done and because they know what nails they have driven into the hands of Macedonian identity, and we are bringing it back. We will fight to bring it back completely. I don't know if this generation will succeed in getting it back, but I know that we will leave it to you, to the generations to come, to give back to Macedonia and the Macedonian people everything that those from the SDSM sold, with dignity and with our heads held high," added Mickoski.
He also commented on the report on North Macedonia in the EP: "When they saw us fighting, they prayed to God that we would not succeed. When they saw us arguing and winning the battle at the table, they prayed that we would not succeed. They were relieved when Brussels decided to postpone the report until June 24. But there is no escape. This report will be adopted because the whole of Europe and Brussels know about the centuries-old and unique Macedonian identity and language and will support it," said Mickoski.
The Prime Minister of North Macedonia continued: "From last place in Europe in terms of foreign investment, we have reached first place in Europe with €1.255 billion, which is the best result since independence. From a negative GDP growth balance and last place in Europe, we have achieved 3.2% growth and are now the fourth largest economy in Europe in terms of this indicator. Macedonia is improving and winning. Macedonia belongs to the people again. This is a new era. We have gone from double-digit inflation to a low 2.7% in March.“
Mickoski claims that ”previously, only civil servants' salaries were rising, but today workers' salaries are growing by 9 to 10 percent a year."
"From industrial production, which was minus 2, to an increase in industrial production in March of 5.2. From the Kichevo-Ohrid highway, which was halted and where it was most important that the subcontractors be from Kichevo or Strumica, to a highway that is being built and will be ready in a year. Today, there are no private tenders and there is accountability," he assured. | BGNES
