Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Ahmedabad, where more than 240 people died on June 12 after an Air India passenger plane crashed.
Indian television showed Modi visiting the Civil Hospital to meet the injured and touring the plane crash site.
Earlier, the prime minister said he was "stunned and saddened" by the crash, calling it "heartbreaking beyond words".
"Our thoughts remain with those who lost their loved ones in this unimaginable tragedy," Modi wrote on social network X, adding that teams were working tirelessly in the aftermath.
Ahmedabad, where the crash took place, is the main city in the leader's home state of Gujarat. | BGNES
