The world famous singer Dua Lipa was granted Kosovo citizenship. On July 31, she was received by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who granted citizenship to the singer by presidential decree, "Koha" reported.
"Welcome home, Dua! It is a special honour for me that today, by presidential decree, I grant citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo to Dua Lipa, one of the most important cultural and artistic personalities in the history of our country," Osmani wrote on Facebook.
She said Kosovo will always be proud of the performer.
"Dua and Kosovo have always been inseparable. She has been and continues to be one of the most powerful voices on the world's biggest stages, making history with her achievements and becoming an inspiration to millions of people around the world. Our gratitude is endless for all that Dua has done and continues to do for Kosovo, for our youth, for our art and for the international image of our country," Osmani further wrote.
Lipa is in Kosovo, where she will participate in the Sunny Hill Festival. She will give a concert on the first night of the festival on August 1. | BGNES
